The series takes place shortly after the events of Ultimate Alien . Ben Tennyson, now 16 years old, has retired his identity as a public hero to return to a "normal" life. However, the discovery of the successor, the Omnitrix Mk. III (or simply the new Omnitrix) , pulls him back into action.
