Before modifying any CNC parameter, always ensure you have a complete backup of all existing parameters. Follow these steps to safely modify parameter 1860:
This parameter sets the maximum permissible difference between the position data stored by the CNC and the data actually received from the absolute pulse coder (APC) upon power-up.
When working with parameter 1860 for rotary axis applications, several critical restrictions must be observed. This function is available only for rotary axis A-type with an absolute position detector (absolute pulse coder). It cannot be used with a rotary scale that uses distance-coded reference marks (serial) or a distance-coded rotary scale interface (phase A/B). Additionally, you must set this parameter for a rotary axis A-type using a scale without rotary data, while ensuring it is set for a rotary axis A-type using a scale with rotary data.
When a FANUC-controlled rotary axis is homed, the system records the machine position where the reference point is established. This positional data is stored in two parameters: fanuc parameter 1860
For many maintenance procedures, Parameter 1860 is not directly set by the technician; rather, it's automatically populated:

Are you currently facing a specific code or trying to re-home an axis after a battery change? Before modifying any CNC parameter, always ensure you
Set Parameter 1815 bit 4 (APZ) to 0 , jog the axis to the physical home position, change APZ to 1 , and cycle the power. 2. Alarm 411 (Servo Alarm: Excess Error)

: The NRT parameter is only available for A-type rotary axes and applies to each axis individually. As stated in the additional manual, this parameter is available for only the rotary axis A type. This function is available only for rotary axis
Operators may encounter reference return alarms such as (reference return incomplete). If this occurs, verify that all steps were followed in the correct sequence, check for mechanical issues affecting the axis movement, confirm that the chosen homing method is appropriate for the machine configuration, and ensure that no other parameters affecting reference return have been inadvertently changed.
