1. Essential Configuration: Airport Elevation Corrections (AEC)
Crucial Step: If you install a new third-party airport scenery package in the future, you re-run this tool to avoid elevation bugs at that airport. Click Apply to save the changes. Scenery Library Layer Ordering
| Simulator | Use ORBX Vector? | Best for | |-----------|----------------|----------| | | ❌ Avoid (OOM risk) | Retro or very low-end PCs | | P3D v4 | ✅ Yes | 64-bit stability, older add-ons | | P3D v5 | ✅ Yes (but disable secondary roads if needed) | Best visual results with Enhanced Atmospherics | | MSFS | ❌ Not needed | Default superior vector data | fsx p3d orbx ftx global vector best
Off. These rivers are dry for most of the year. You will rarely notice them from the cockpit, but your CPU still has to calculate them. Turning them off saves significant performance.
| Simulator | Recommend? | Notes | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | ⚠️ Maybe (Global only) | Skip Vector unless you have a high-end 2015+ CPU. | | FSX (Optimized) | ✅ Yes (both) | But disable minor roads & railways. | | P3D v4/v5 | ✅✅ Highly | The perfect combo. Vector runs much better here. |
: For the best results, it is best used in sequence: Global Base (textures) →right arrow Vector (lines/data) →right arrow OpenLC (landclass). Global VECTOR - Orbx What’s your experience

Hey everyone,
Disabled . These add thousands of minor geometry lines that you rarely see from cruising altitude but heavily tax your CPU. Let me know below
However, Why? Because the older sim engines rely on data files, not real-time streaming. You cannot "stream" vector data into FSX. ORBX Vector is the most comprehensive, hand-corrected database available for the platform. It pushed the 32-bit and 64-bit legacy engines to their absolute limit.
Set frozen water surfaces to "Seasonal" for realism.
Achieving the flight simulation experience with FSX or P3D using Orbx FTX Global and Vector is a journey of methodical installation and careful tuning. FTX Global provides the canvas; Vector provides the engineering lines; and your hardware provides the brush.
